Upon arriving in Rome, "The Eternal City," you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel, where you’ll have time to unpack, relax, or explore the city on your own. Later, join your fellow travelers for a welcome reception with light refreshments, setting the tone for the days ahead. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with the group and ease into the spirit of the pilgrimage. After dinner, we’ll conclude the day with a peaceful night walk near the Vatican, soaking in the serene beauty of Rome by night. (B,D)
Day 3 ✠Wednesday, November 12, 2025
Just a short stroll from your hotel, less than ten minutes away, awaits the breathtaking St. Peter’s Square. Step across an international border and immerse yourself in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend an audience with Pope Francis! This morning, we’ll marvel at Bernini’s grand piazza and explore the very heart of the Catholic Church.
In the afternoon, explore the artistic treasures of the Vatican Museums, home to one of the world’s most extraordinary collections of masterpieces. Afterward, visit St. Peter’s Basilica, where you can admire Michelangelo’s Pietà and, if you wish, climb the 551 steps to the top of the iconic dome for breathtaking views of Rome. In the evening, enjoy a special group dinner on the historic Borgo Pio, a charming cobblestone street near the Vatican, celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and rich connection to the heart of Rome. (B, D).
Day 4 ✠Thursday, November 13, 2025
Step back in time as we dive into the wonders of Ancient Rome! Begin the day at the awe-inspiring Colosseum, a site not only of grand spectacles but also of profound Christian significance, where early martyrs courageously witnessed their faith. Continue to the Roman Forum, the bustling political and social hub of the empire, and marvel at the sweeping views of Palatine Hill from the historic Circus Maximus. Nearby, visit the Basilica of Saint Mary in Cosmedin, where you’ll encounter the legendary Bocca della Verità, made famous by Roman Holiday.
The afternoon is yours to explore Rome or shop for souvenirs. For those interested in the legacy of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the Jesuits, an optional visit to the Church of the Gesù offers a deeper connection to their history. Here, you’ll find the tomb of St. Ignatius and the resting place of Fr. Pedro Arrupe. You’ll also have the chance to tour the Ignatian Apartments, where St. Ignatius lived, prayed, and led the Jesuit order in its formative years.(B, ID)
Day 5 ✠Friday, November 14, 2025
Today, we delve into the fascinating history of early Christianity with a visit to the Roman Catacombs. These ancient underground burial sites served not only as a resting place for the faithful but also as a refuge for early Christians during times of persecution. As we explore the intricate network of tunnels and chambers adorned with early Christian art, we’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the faith and resilience of those who came before us.

Next, we’ll journey to St. Paul Outside the Walls, one of Rome’s four major basilicas and a masterpiece of early Christian architecture. Built over the tomb of St. Paul, this majestic basilica has been a center of pilgrimage for centuries. Inside, admire its stunning mosaics, majestic columns, and tranquil cloisters that offer a peaceful escape from the city's bustle. The basilica also houses a fascinating visual display of medallions depicting every pope in history, tied to the Prophecy of St. Malachy, which predicts the number of popes before the end of times. This makes St. Paul Outside the Walls not only a place of spiritual significance but also a site steeped in mystery and legend.

In the evening, join an optional walking tour of Rome’s most famous landmarks, including the Spanish Steps and the dazzling Trevi Fountain, where you’ll have the chance to toss a coin and ensure your return to the Eternal City. The night concludes with a special dinner featuring traditional Roman pastas. (B, D)
Day 6 ✠Saturday, November 15, 2025
Get ready for an inspiring day as we explore two of Rome's most magnificent Major Basilicas! First, we’ll visit St. John Lateran, the Pope’s official cathedral, before crossing the street to stand before the Holy Steps—believed to be the very steps Jesus ascended during his trial. In the afternoon, we’ll journey to St. Mary Major, where we’ll marvel at its stunning mosaics and delve into its rich history, including the relic of the Nativity of Jesus. This promises to be a deeply moving experience as we walk in the footsteps of history. (B, ID)

Day 7 ✠Sunday, November 16, 2025
Today begins with Sunday Mass at Santa Maria in Sassia, a significant church for English-speaking pilgrims. Historically, it has been a place of devotion for those visiting the Vatican, and many English-speaking pilgrims come here to connect with the heart of Rome's spiritual life. After Mass, we will head to St. Peter’s Square for the Papal Angelus Address at noon, a moment to reflect on the Holy Father's message. The rest of the afternoon is free for your last-minute exploration of Rome and souvenir shopping. This evening, enjoy a Special Going Away Dinner with wine pairings. (B, D)
Day 8 ✠Monday, November 17, 2025
This morning, we’ll transfer to Rome’s Fiumicino Airport to begin our journey home. As we depart, reflect on the incredible memories made during this Holy Year pilgrimage. Hopefully, a coin tossed into the Trevi Fountain ensures that you’ll return to Italy one day. Safe travels! (B)
